Founded on 15th October 2011 by Michael Heneise with the help of a small cohort of fellow South Asian postgraduates at the University of Edinburgh, The South Asianist is an international peer-reviewed, online journal that focuses on issues and topics related to the study of South Asia. Published by the Centre for South Asian Studies, it is also among the first periodicals within Edinburgh University to partner with the Library for publishing.

Aims & Scope
Publication Frequency
publishes two issues per year, in Autumn and in Spring. Additionally, Special Focus issues will be published intermittantly that cover conferences coordinated or linked with Edinburgh University's Centre for South Asian Studies.
